Very impressed with standard studio with a comfortable bed. A wide range of brilliant food at breakfast time.

The hotel was in the very central setting to everything allowing walking access after a long drive. The small queen studio suited us: it had an electric kettle, a fridge, and a microwave oven. The workers were outstandingly accommodating and amicable.

The bed was quite uncomfortable in this place.

Absolutely great place with pleasant views of garden. Amazingly nice staff throughout. Good-sized and compact room with large beds, a TV set and Wi-Fi. Paid £ 359. Beautiful, magnificent location in Franz Josef, very close to good restaurants and hot springs, and all bars, cafes and restaurants. 4-6 minutes' walking distance from Our Lady of the Alps Catholic Church. Simply no complaint, very nice stay.

Very very helpful and pleasant staff & overall little place to visit. Plenty of good food. Particularly good location, nice area, so close to South Island, restaurants and main part of town and shops, cafes and walking trails. Again, walking distance to West Coast Wildlife Centre. Honestly no complaint.

We had a brilliant stay at this place! The location was perfect, with everything we needed just a short walk away. The rooms were beautiful, and we loved all the little touches that made our stay so great. The team here were incredibly friendly and made us feel so welcome. We would have loved to stay longer and explore more of what this place has to offer.

It was clean and within walking distance of restaurants.

We chose the unit as it promised a "private jacuzzi" - turned out to be no more that a single spa bath in the bathroom, with the shower over - we consider this this false representation. When we arrived the place was freezing as three windows were open - it was 5 degrees outside. The old wall heater didn't work on the second heat setting, although we did find another fan heater in a cupboard after a while which helped. Iron but no ironing board, broken venetian blinds on the door, stained curtains in the bedroom, and low wattage bulbs in ceiling lights making them extremely dim. We confirmed we didn't want the towels changed when asked the next morning, but unfortunately this was interpreted as we didn't want the room serviced at all, which it wasn't until we asked. Extremely disappointed, particularly for $300 for 2 nights.

Everything there were good, including good facilities. Its staff were very very helpful and pleasant.

As a satisfied guest at Bella Vista in Franz Josef, I stayed for a few nights and had a great experience. The hotel's facilities were older, but extremely clean. The Queen room, although small, had enough space to open a large suitcase. The staff were helpful and polite, allowing us to check in early. The hotel provided an informative map with local recommendations and had a great location in the middle of town, making it easy to explore the area.

Would definitely recommend this hotel.
